SILVERBACK EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS, DANCE & ATHLETICS
Silverback Educational Foundation for the Arts, Dance & Athletics (“SEFADA” or “Silverback”) is a private foundation dedicated to supporting the arts, dance and athletics, providing opportunities both for underprivileged youth and individuals seeking to perform or compete at the collegiate, world class or professional level.
Silverback supports philanthropic programs in community centers, clubs, associations, camps, and other organizations in the arts, dance and athletics which encourage creativity, character development, and discipline using any form of the arts, dance or athletics as an educational tool, as well as academic scholarship programs in schools and colleges.
Silverback is an organization exempt from tax under §501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN: 46-4902114).
- Academic: Silverback supports scholarship programs for underprivileged students at numerous private schools, among which include Benchmark School, Burke Mountain Academy, the Haverford School, Holy Cross Catholic School, the Phelps School, the Shipley School and YSC Academy. Certain scholarship programs supported by Silverback may also be associated with federal, state or municipal initiatives in education, the arts or athletics, such as the EITC and OSTC programs offered under Pennsylvania’s Department of Community & Economic Development.
- Athletic: Silverback supports various soccer clubs and programs, such as The SWAG, a Philadelphia area youth soccer program supporting ethnic communities free of charge, the Philadelphia Union Pre-Academy, F.C. Delco, FC Sports, and the Lower Merion Soccer Club, among other programs, each of which offer elite soccer training and competition opportunities for talented players, including many players from underprivileged backgrounds.
- Dance, Arts & Culture: Silverback’s founder is a supporter of various programs in the arts, such as the City of Philadelphia’s Mural Arts program, the Kimmel Center and the Philadelphia Art Museum. He also supports numerous philanthropic programs with charities helping those in need, including Multicultural Community Family Services, which assists immigrant children and their families in the inner city areas, and was an early benefactor supporting the development of the Urban Dance & Educational Foundation (“UDEF”), a public charity.
